Job Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of Sequel Med Tech. Job Overview

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments and receipts.
- Assist in the maintenance of vendor master file and ensure Form W-9 is on file where required.
- Review employee expense reports and ensure all travel and entertainment expenditures are in accordance with company policy.
- Escalate any issues to Accounting Supervisor
- General Ledger:
- Maintain and reconcile various general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Financial Reports:
- Assist in generation of accounting reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports and support audit processes.
- Financial Records Reconciliation:
- Reconcile financial records and accounts, identifying discrepancies and rectifying issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation of Processes:
- In partnership with Accounting Supervisor, document and update Accounting processes and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Suggest process improvements as appropriate.
- Additional Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested financial documents and information.
- Assist in the implementation of Accounting System(s)/application(s).
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in finance, accounting or similar preferred but not required
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable/Receivable experience for a commercial-stage company

- Experience with Netsuite or another ERP system preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Experience with Concur.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Customer service and problem-solving mindset and approach to work
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in accounting practices.
